Welcome! I’m Jane and I live in Ontario, Canada. I love yoga, running and food. I’m pretty sure that one of my key motivations to run is so that I can eat. I also love shopping in pursuit of yoga and running. I have a small workout-clothing section in my closet, dedicated primarily to clothing from lululemon which I’m sure that I will comment on at some point.
I started running in February 2010 using the c25 program. I had attempted to run previously but could never run for more than 2-5 minutes at a time, likely because I wasn’t building the right way and I was running too fast. To be honest, I have never been a good athlete, and have always been a terrible runner. The c25k program piqued my interest because it built from nothing and I was curious to see if I could become a runner. It didn’t hurt that running is one of the best ways to lose weight. Although I wasn’t overweight, I didn’t love how I looked in a mirror.
I have now completed 2 5k races, a 10k race and am signed up for another 10k in October 2010 and a HM in May 2011. I am officially slightly OCD about running and I am finally starting to love it.
I started practicing yoga seriously in (approximately) May 2009. I practice ashtanga and power yoga. It gives me a peace of mind even when I am in the most awkward and difficult positions. It has also helped me to develop arm/back strength, which I’ve never had.
I love to cook. I’m not very good at experimenting so most of my food posts will be photos and links to other recipes. I’m also terrible at taking food photos so I apologize in advance for that. I am a vegeterian and a wannabe-vegan so food posts will be vegetarian and mostly vegan… unless they’re restaurants or something similar.
